About The Position

The Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic Health System is seeking qualified radiologists to join their expanding Emergency Overnight Team, providing overnight teleradiology coverage. This role involves the final interpretation of inpatient and ED examinations, primarily CT, US, and X-ray, with some MRI. The team works collegially and experiences high job satisfaction. The standard schedule is 7 days on and 14 days off, with 9-hour shifts typically from Monday to Sunday (MN-WI/Central Time), overlapping with existing team members. Vacation and non-clinical time are taken during off-rotation periods. Qualified candidates can work remotely from anywhere in the continental United States. The ideal candidate will possess strong general radiology skills and fellowship-level training, preferably in neuroradiology or emergency radiology, though other relevant fellowships will be considered. Interpretation of body, thoracic, and MSK exams is required, along with experience and proficiency in typical ED/Inpatient Stat CT and MR neurological imaging. The Mayo Clinic Health System Department of Radiology comprises nearly 80 radiologists and approximately 500 allied health employees, offering opportunities for committee representation, academic appointments, and collaboration with colleagues across the Midwest and nation. To foster engagement and support departmental goals, additional weekday daytime coverage is included, consisting of two remote daytime weeks and two on-site work weeks at a community hospital, with a travel stipend provided for the on-site weeks.

Requirements

  • Subspecialty Radiology fellowship required.
  • ABR board eligible or board certification required.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a medical license in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
  • Must maintain medical licensure in respective state of residence.
  • Strong general radiology skills.
  • Fellowship level training ideally in neuroradiology or emergency Radiology, although other relevant fellowships will be considered.
  • Experience and proficiency with typical ED/Inpatient Stat CT and MR neurological exams is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide final interpretation of all inpatient and ED examinations, predominantly CT, US, X-ray, and some MRI exams.

  • Provide overnight teleradiology coverage.
