About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time, Board-certified/eligible Nuclear Medicine Physician to join their growing team. This hybrid role involves both onsite and remote scan interpretation. The physician will be involved in a wide variety of general nuclear medicine imaging studies using advanced equipment, including PET/CT, SPECT/CT, SPECT, and solid-state cameras. The role includes comprehensive PET/CT services, specialized general nuclear medicine studies, and a strong emphasis on nuclear cardiology. While not required to monitor cardiac stress patients or interpret EKGs, the physician will perform multiple treatments including radioligand therapies and liver-directed therapies. The Nuclear Medicine department is recognized as a Clinical Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence and collaborates in tumor boards and provides consultations as part of multidisciplinary teams at ChristianaCare’s Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and Research Institute, which participates in the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).

Requirements

  • Board-Certified/Eligible in nuclear medicine.
  • Currently holding or willing to obtain the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology.
  • Interested in clinical nuclear medicine including therapies.
  • Clinical experience in interpreting attenuation correction CT scans.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of general nuclear medicine imaging studies utilizing multiple PET/CT, SPECT/CT, SPECT, and solid-state cameras.
  • Provide comprehensive PET/CT services including F-18/Ga-68 PSMA, Cu-64/Ga-68 Dotatate, F-18 Fluoroestradiol, and F-18 Amyloid brain.
  • Conduct general nuclear medicine studies such as whole gut transit, salivary gland imaging, in vivo procedures like blood volume and renal GFR studies, and DXA scans.
  • Interpret a wide variety of nuclear cardiology scans including SPECT and PET/CT stress perfusion, PET/CT cardiac viability, PET/CT cardiac sarcoidosis and amyloid PYP studies.
  • Perform multiple treatments including radioligand therapies (Lu-177 PSMA and Dotatate), liver-directed therapy (glass and resin Y-90 microspheres), I-131 NaI, and Ra-223 dichloride.
  • Participate and collaborate in various tumor boards.
  • Provide nuclear oncologic consultations as part of multidisciplinary teams.
  • Teach cardiology fellows, interventional radiology fellows, radiology residents, medical students, and nuclear medicine technology students.
  • Participate in scholarly activities and collaborate on clinical projects with other departments.
