About The Position

This job performs a variety of imaging procedures and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologist Assistant and/or Radiology Practitioner Assistant program with a Bachelor of Science degree in Advanced Radiologic Sciences.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Registered Radiologist Assistant (RRA)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced registration in cardiovascular/interventional radiography
  • Licensed in the state of practice in Medical Radiation Technology
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs static and dynamic fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Evaluates images for quality and recommends additional images as needed.
  • Reports observations of imaging to Radiologist.
  • Provides post-care instructions to patient and document the procedure in the appropriate record as well as write patient discharge summary for review and co-signature by the radiologist.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities within the radiology practice.
  • Performs general radiographic procedures as needed.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations, and standards.
