About The Position

Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy. Must be registered with ARRT and State of Nebraska Licensed. Successfully completed an accredited educational program related to CT or provide/perform documented training of CT proficiency. On the job CT training is available. Mammography certification is a plus.

Requirements

  • Must be registered with ARRT and State of Nebraska Licensed.
  • Successfully completed an accredited educational program related to CT or provide/perform documented training of CT proficiency.
  • Licensed in the State of Nebraska as a Medical Radiographer
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologist) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to maintain good working relationships with staff, healthcare providers, and patients
  • Must be capable of communicating clearly (reading, writing and speaking) in the English Language.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of a personal computer with Microsoft Office and the Internet
  • Must be capable of reading and comprehending complex healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Must take On Call rotation at minimum one weekday and weekend rotations (every 4-5 weekends).
  • Must have the ability to report on site within 30 minutes for Call Backs, preferably sooner.

Nice To Haves

  • Mammography certification is a plus!
  • Current with CEU’s.

Responsibilities

  • Performs multiple imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, DEXA, and C-arm fluoroscopy.
  • Practice Radiation Safety and ALARA
  • Adjusts imaging equipment settings; determines proper voltage and exposure; positions patients properly.
  • Understands and performs Quality Control / Quality Assurance
  • Review exams and report results to ordering providers
  • Performing diagnostic exam that utilize ionizing radiation
  • Performs examinations using Computerized Tomography and utilizing contrast media that perform cross-sectional anatomy that produces an image and numerical value to tissue density.
  • Understand Risk Factors for Breast Cancer and educate patients to perform self-breast exams and promote awareness through various types of education
  • Understand ACR/MQSA requirements for accreditation, compliance and evaluation.
  • Understand screening guideline, patient positioning, safety, ALARA, image quality and documentation, perform QC/QA.
  • Measure bone mineral density at a specific at a specific anatomical site and calculate total body bone mineral content
  • Operate C-arm during orthopedic cases, pain management procedures, or general surgical procedures as needed
