GE Vernova•Union City, CA
•$127,900 - $245,100

About The Position

The Senior Radiological Engineer - Shielding & Reactivity Control contributes to the Shielding & Reactivity Control team by performing, verifying, and mentoring engineering work in radiation and dose assessment, including shielding and criticality; fluence; reactivity control and reactivity insertion analysis; control rod blade design; spent fuel pool criticality; and transport package design and analysis. The role performs technical evaluations and provides engineering support while coordinating with internal and external project managers, technical personnel, and customers. It maintains quality and safety standards while meeting project schedule and cost objectives, and prepares, documents, and presents technical information to customers. The engineer also contributes to process improvements, ensures compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards, and mentors early-career engineers. The position calls for sound judgment in addressing complex engineering challenges, evaluating information, consulting stakeholders, and developing recommendations beyond established parameters. The engineer stays informed about industry trends, may lead low-complexity functional teams or projects, and communicates technical concepts in ways that can influence others. Access to U.S. export-controlled information is required; where applicable, an offer is contingent on obtaining U.S. Government authorization for that access. GE Vernova describes its work environment as offering professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation. Relocation assistance is provided. For U.S.-based candidates, the stated salary range is $127,900 to $245,100, subject to geographic differentials and factors such as experience, education, and skills. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage; a nurse-based health resource and Employee Assistance Program; retirement savings and company contributions; tuition and adoption assistance; paid parental leave; disability benefits; life insurance; 12 paid holidays; and permissive time off.
