About The Position

The RCT will carry out company's health physics, safety and industrial hygiene policies and procedures on field project assignments in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of facilities at the Kesselring Site as a part of a joint venture with BWXT to form BWSR.

Requirements

  • Current or Previous RCT qualification with an RCTQS School Certificate
  • Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "L" Security Clearance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RCT.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial and radiological environments, including prolonged standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, crouching, and working in confined spaces.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, anti-contamination clothing, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety footwear for extended periods of time.
  • Must be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection and work in radiological controlled areas.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, noise, and outdoor conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor job-site activities involving radioactivity to ensure compliance with applicable company and job- specific policies/procedures along with applicable government regulations.
  • Maintain and operate radiation measuring equipment; perform labor-intensive decontamination activities.
  • Provide radiological controls oversight of the deconstruction and remediation activities.
  • Must be able to interact daily with Rad Con management to report radiological issues.
  • Specific functions include continuous daily monitoring of radiological work, radiological surveying, environment sampling and evaluation, and aiding in the preparation of documents that support the transfer of materials and equipment for disposal or release.
  • Provides radiological oversight and leadership for all crew personnel to ensure the highest radiological standards are kept.
  • Complete radiological monitoring reports.
  • Interpret radiological control requirements, participate in task scoping, and provide technical review of work documents.
  • Interface with customer radiological and operations management personnel concerning radiological issues.
  • Provide guidance for proper handling and documentation associated with radioactive material and source.
