About The Position

APTIM is seeking Junior level Radiological Control Technicians to support radiological field operations in San Francisco, CA. We are seeking Health Physics/Radiological Control Technicians who can effectively embrace the technical and operational challenges of high profile and critically important field level project support activities. Technicians that can execute radiation health & safety surveys, controls and processes the highest technical and data integrity standards as set forth by APTIM, and project stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 2+ years of operational health physics experience within the radiation safety field.
  • Familiarity with radiation protection regulations and standards of the USNRC, USDOD, USDOE, USACE and Agreement States
  • Must have current HAZWOPER 40-hour qualification
  • General standing, bending and reaching to support project survey and housekeeping activities.
  • Must be able to periodically lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in environments with additional hazards and PPE requirements, including Tyvek® coveralls and respirators.

Responsibilities

  • Carries out company's health physics and industrial hygiene policies and procedures on field project assignments.
  • Performs field Health Physics Technician assignments to align with the objectives of the project work schedule.
  • Operates radiation measuring equipment; conduct radiological surveys and performs radiological sampling; interprets survey and sample data; able to document radiological surveys performed in high quality, error free format.
