Requirements

  • HS GRAD/EQUIVALENT
  • Required: BLS, CT State RT License or New Graduates under CT Temporary Practice Provisions, Valid ARRT, Continuing education, 24 CEU credits for license.
  • Maintains current knowledge of professional discipline & educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
  • Experience with patient care in a radiology setting.
  • Credentials: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiographer New Graduates under CT Temporary Practice Provisions
  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program

Nice To Haves

  • Is proficient in either mammography, operating room or another specialty modality.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and greet patient.
  • Responsible for the care and safety of patients.
  • Instructs and prepares patient for xray & or fluoroscopic exam.
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions, & shields patient accordingly.
  • Produce high quality xrays.
  • Assists with training students and ancillary personnel.
  • Interacts professionally with patients and family.
  • Completes all work before clocking out and leaving.
  • Attends annual hospital review (compliance) and departmental inservices meetings as scheduled.
  • Practices medicine and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Is proficient in either mammography, operating room or another specialty modality.
  • Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
