This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays, reporting results to Medical Providers, and providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the centers. The Radiologic Technologist will collaborate with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients, supporting patient care management, organization, and communication.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required.
Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required.
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.
Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
Following infection control and radiological safety procedures.

Responsibilities

Providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
Performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers.
Providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers.
Collaborating with Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients to support patient care management, organization, and communication.
Responsible for x-ray services as needed.
Performing x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly, under the direction of the clinical provider.
Ensuring patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Pushing patients in a wheelchair.
Informing technical staff of patient flow.
Preparing patients for examination, including conducting interviews to verify patient information and record medical history.
Confirming the purpose of the visit.
Performing preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalating critical cases to the provider as needed.
Conducting point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and providing patient information to the provider.
Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.
Conducting courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care.
Following operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment.
Maintaining Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment.
Troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and submitting repair tickets as needed.
Collaborating with the ordering/treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment.
Supporting clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
Explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answering their questions.
Accurately positioning patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
Selecting proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images.
Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of X-ray equipment, and managing necessary supplies.
Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Maintaining accurate patient records and logging completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.
Verifying image quality and ensuring images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
