About The Position
At Iowa Heart, the Radiologic Technologist joins a collaborative team providing cardiovascular care. The role supports angiography imaging during cardiac and vascular procedures in the OR8 vascular suite. Experienced technologists and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. The position performs diagnostic imaging procedures during scheduled shifts, operates imaging equipment, rotates through surgery cases to develop the skills and proficiency needed to attain Level III status, and provides education and counseling to patients, families, or caregivers. The technologist follows exam protocols, maintains a clean, stocked, and orderly department, and operates equipment safely and efficiently while reporting malfunctions to the manager or Bio-med. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 and relocation assistance depending on location.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist, with active registry status maintained.
- Maintain a current Iowa Permit to Practice.
- Participate in a professional society, such as ISRT or SCD.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or obtain it within three months of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to the population served within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures during scheduled shifts, including operating imaging equipment.
- Rotate regularly through surgery cases to acquire the skills and proficiency necessary to attain Level III status.
- Provide patient, family, or caregiver education and counseling to recognize and address physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
- Perform exams according to protocol.
- Maintain the department's physical environment in a clean, well-stocked, and orderly manner.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently and report malfunctions to the manager or Bio-med.
