About The Position

This is an onsite, part-time position for a Radiologic Technologist. The goal of this position is to assist physicians and other staff members with patient care by producing high-quality radiographs. The role involves assisting patients, taking X-rays, stocking supplies, using radiation protection, training student technologists, ensuring equipment is in working order, and providing backup support to Medical Assistants. The position also requires importing and uploading outside CDs.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited two-year radiologic technology program or equivalent military training.
Completion of coursework required for appropriate state licensure and certification(s) (if applicable).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Knowledge of radiographic technique and medical imaging system(s).
Vast knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy.
Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
Valid Driver�s License and satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) may be required (MVR will be screened on an annual basis).

Previous orthopaedic experience.

Responsibilities

Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs.
Understand and carry out radiology requisitions and views.
Memorize what views each physician requires on exams.
Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Stock necessary supplies.
Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
Assist with and provides direct training and supervision to student technologists.
Ensure equipment is in working order.
Report any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
Carry out radiology requisitions and views.
Use radiographic technique, medical imaging system, and assist other staff members as needed.
Operate all portables and C-Arm equipment (if applicable).
Provide back up support to Medical Assistants, which includes rooming patients, transcribing, entering tests and procedures, EMR documentation, reviewing initial vital signs, assisting with minor procedures (e.g. suture/staple removal), assisting with DME placement/removal, and ensuring all equipment and exam rooms are sterilized and clean/stocked (if applicable).
Import and upload outside CDs for clinic.
