Operate stationary and portable x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated regions of the body. Supervise and instruct students in the clinical areas. This role requires proficiency in patient care activities related to radiology, including relating patient information, following infection control protocols, and demonstrating competency in patient preparation such as informed consent and IV contrast injection. The technologist will also be knowledgeable in the use of the Radiology Information System (EPIC), scheduling, tracking, completion, downtime procedures, and PACS. Teamwork is essential to maintain high standards in Radiology, including attending inservices, cooperating with colleagues, maintaining high morale, seeking solutions to problems, and performing examinations confidently and efficiently. The role also involves ensuring patient modesty, comfort, and privacy, and accepting non-routine assignments. Additional duties include cleaning and restocking rooms, handling stressful situations like trauma, reporting equipment issues, supervising students, transporting portable equipment, attending departmental meetings, reacting to emergencies, and performing physical tasks such as lifting and transferring patients.
