About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist independently performs diagnostic X-ray examinations on patients of all ages and in various care settings, including administering oral contrast materials when appropriate. The technologist works collaboratively with other care team members to expedite examinations, maintain excellent patient relations, and demonstrate the organization’s values. This role is based in an Urgent Care setting at Capital Medical Group in Washington, D.C.

Requirements

High school diploma or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Valid and current X-ray certification.
At least 1 year of experience as an X-ray Technician.
Basic PC skills, including RIS/PACS experience.
Ability to communicate and provide verbal feedback professionally.
Ability to follow and understand instructions and react favorably in work situations.
Mental adaptability and flexibility when dealing with a variety of people.

Responsibilities

Perform X-ray examinations in an Urgent Care setting.
Obtain quality images using correct positioning, markers, and exposure.
Follow radiation safety procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to patients, self, and staff.
Process images using CR and archive images through PACS.
Handle physician requests in a timely manner.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
Adhere to professional standards, policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Prepare patients for examinations by triaging them and reporting a summary of their history.
Assist the front desk with patient check-in.
Support efficient clinical department operations by monitoring patient flow and reducing wait times.
