About The Position

The Adventist Health Northwest Heart Center, located on our medical center campus, provides advanced cardiovascular care, bringing together expert providers, innovative treatments and compassionate support for patients across the region. This role operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians. It involves positioning and instructing patients prior to examination, adjusting the x-ray equipment and determining proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License: Required in OR
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Prepares equipment for use as needed.
• Prepares examination rooms for patient exams.
• Positions patients for imaging exams.
• Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
• Produces diagnostic images.
• Documents exam information.
• Reports important information to the physician.
• Verifies exams on PACS.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
