Requirements
- Graduate of Certified Radiologic technology School or Program
- Licensed in Radiography by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging and National registration in Radiography (AART) Required
- Basic Life Support for the HealthCare Provider (BLS)
- 1-2 years Orthopedic Radiography
- Candidate must pass Urine Analysis and criminal background check.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information to patients, physicians, manager of department, etc.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Knowledge of modern office equipment, systems and procedures, including computer skills and type efficiently; an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Knowledge of medical software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating the medical imaging equipment used to produce images of patients’ bodies.
- Administer radiological examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures and accepted clinical standards
- Evaluate film quality for technique, positioning and protocol compliance and consistently makes the necessary adjustments to achieve quality film results
- Track and maintain all radiology exam reports received from consulting radiologists, ensuring that reports are reviewed by treating physician and properly filed
- Prepare films for medical records request by authorized external facilities or patient and maintain tracking log of films to be returned.
