Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. This role involves transferring, positioning, and instructing patients for optimal imaging, ensuring radiation protection, and calculating technical factors. The technologist will assist physicians with specialized examinations, operate X-ray equipment according to established protocols, and review processed images for quality and accuracy. They will also utilize portable x-ray equipment, maintain equipment, ensure proper documentation for patient identification, statistical, and billing purposes, and maintain a clean and orderly work area. Adherence to radiation safety procedures (ALARA) is crucial. The role requires knowledge of Peripheral Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion and maintenance, sterile field setup, side-site verification, and conducting time-outs before procedures. Familiarity with alternative methods, basic ultrasound machine operation, and C-arm usage is expected. Maintaining a Flouro log and proficiency in RIS and PACS systems are also key responsibilities. Transporting patients may be necessary to expedite examinations or ensure patient satisfaction. Performs related duties as required.
