About The Position

Founded in 1941, Dignity Health - Dominican Hospital is a 188-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Santa Cruz, California, serving over 80,000 patients annually. As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) at Dominican Hospital, the role is pivotal in producing diagnostic images such as X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, which enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. The technologist will actively contribute to a positive patient experience through direct interaction and must possess a deep understanding of diagnostic imaging's critical importance, including expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results for timely and accurate diagnoses.

Requirements

  • Completion of radiologic technology training in an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved school
  • Medical Radiographer: CA
  • Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR

  • Associates Of Science Radiologic Sciences
  • 1-2 years experience as a radiologic technologist

Responsibilities

  • Produce diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
  • Perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs.
  • Actively contribute to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
  • Utilizes proper equipment (gurney, wheelchair, Hoyer-Lift, etc.) to safely transport patient.
  • Performs all routine diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures.
  • Assigns all patient charges appropriately.
  • Records/reviews all techniques/procedures as required.
  • Clearly marks all radiographs with legally approved lead markers.
  • Marks all CR/DR images with patient position, etc.
  • Ensures all CR/DR images are quality controlled and with correct "S" range.
