Radiology Technologist (0.8 FTE)
About The Position
Gillette Children's is seeking a motivated, independent, and responsible Radiologic Technologist to join their imaging team. This position is primarily located at the St. Paul hospital in the OR, with additional coverage in the general x-ray department as needed. The role involves performing diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines, working with patients of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions, and providing efficient customer service. The position requires exceptional teamwork, efficient communication, and the ability to work in highly coordinated teams to care for patients with complex conditions. This is a 0.8 FTE, benefit-eligible position.
Requirements
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within one month of employment).
- Certified and in good standing with the ARRT prior to start date.
- Experience working in a digital imaging environment.

- Proficient and safe use of imaging equipment including: Radiographic C-arm, O-arm, Portable radiographic, Fluoroscopic.
- Proficient and safe use of ancillary equipment relevant to the modality including: Computed radiography, Positioning devices, Ceiling lift, Imaging printers, Digitizer, PACS, RIS.
- Proficient in all exam types for the assigned modality. Radiographic: Skull, Spine, Chest, Abdomen, Pelvis, Upper and Lower Extremity, Intraoperative Fluoroscopic, C-arm, and O-arm.
Responsibilities
- Performs diagnostic imaging exams in compliance with departmental procedures and guidelines.
- Works with patients of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions.
- Provides efficient and effective customer service.
- Responds to physician orders for diagnostic imaging procedures by producing high quality images.
- Performs patient assessment of pain, pregnancy, and ability to complete the exam.
- Performs patient education concerning the procedure.
- Documents patient history.
- Properly positions the patient.
- Selects the exam protocol.
- Selects the equipment parameters/technical factors.
- Discharges the patient with post procedure instructions.
- Evaluates resulting images and accepts or rejects them appropriately.
