About The Position

Concentra is seeking a part-time Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist to join their patient care team. This role is vital in providing exceptional care to patients and improving the health of America's workforce. The Radiologic Technologist & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray examinations under the supervision of a treating clinician and supports other areas of the facility. This position requires efficient and accurate one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring patients receive quality care and an excellent experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology and applicable certification by the state in which employed.
  • Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and has active and valid certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • At least six months or more of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with people tactfully and professionally.
  • Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear, and professional manner.
  • Teamwork focus with peers and center leadership team; ability to maintain working relationship with all levels of colleagues.
  • Must participate in initial and ongoing training as required.
  • Obtain all certifications required of Medical Support Specialists including but not limited to Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, Hair and Oral Fluids Collection.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook and entry of data into various systems/applications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, including escorting them to dressing and x-ray rooms, providing instructions, and assisting with positioning.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients for care, safety, and comfort during x-ray exams.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, adjusting controls for exposure time and distance.
  • Take x-rays following established requirements and regulations, ensuring patient care and safety.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices for patients and team members.
  • Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order and report malfunctions.
  • Ensure all Radiology workflows are followed and reports cross correctly to EMR.
  • Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation for patient x-ray visits.
  • Maintain all x-ray equipment, including calibration, QA/QC procedures, and record keeping.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing (vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, respirator fit testing).
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.).
  • Assist providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients.
  • Prepare and assist clinicians with procedure set-up and injury care.
  • Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes.
  • Maintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam rooms.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility issues.
  • Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times.
  • Perform clerical tasks in front and back office related to patient care and record keeping.
  • Ensure accuracy in documentation.
  • Perform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, communicate wait times, answer phones, and distribute employer results/paperwork.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend center staff meetings or huddles.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance of the facility.
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.

Benefits

  • Eligible to earn a base compensation rate in the range of $26.31 up to $34.20 hourly depending on job-related factors such as level of experience, geographic location, and/or seniority.
