The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic procedures by the application of ionizing radiation to produce radiographic images under a variety of conditions and assisting physicians as required in the selection of practical applications and technical factors. This role involves obtaining patient histories, producing quality radiographs, selecting proper technical factors, and ensuring radiation safety. The technologist will operate equipment, maintain knowledge of departmental protocols, process films, and assemble images for interpretation. They will also assist with patient transport, utilize computer systems for various tasks, and may assist with other equipment and procedures. Additionally, the role requires knowledge of sterile and sterilization procedures, general scheduler duties, Prompt Care workflow, and obtaining reports on images. Responsibilities include managing supplies, cleaning equipment, reporting equipment failures, submitting time off requests, and providing training to new staff. The technologist must comply with incident reporting policies, OSHA requirements, and Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards. Other job duties may be assigned.
