About The Position

Emory Healthcare is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for its Radiology team at Emory Midtown Hospital. The role operates radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs and performs routine, portable, operating room, and fluoroscopic examinations. The technologist provides quality patient care, positions patients, adjusts equipment, sets exposure factors, and applies appropriate techniques and protocols to obtain high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and staff. The position also involves explaining procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and encourage cooperation; communicating effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members; preparing procedure rooms and supplies; cleaning equipment and restocking rooms; and troubleshooting equipment problems and reporting malfunctions to a supervisor. The technologist performs radiologic studies for assigned patients and seeks assistance when needed. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 9:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., for 40 hours per week. Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or be registry eligible.
Registry-eligible applicants must complete and pass the registry within one year of employment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification in accordance with the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic radiographs.
Perform routine, portable, operating room, and fluoroscopic examinations.
Provide quality patient care and position patients and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality images.
Set exposure factors and use appropriate techniques and protocols.
Take precautions to minimize radiation exposure for staff and patients.
Communicate with patients, families, and other healthcare team members about procedures.
Explain procedures to patients and families to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation.
Set up procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies.
Clean equipment and stock procedure rooms.
Troubleshoot equipment problems and advise the supervisor of malfunctions.
Perform radiologic studies for assigned patients.
Seek assistance when needed.
