About The Position

This part-time Radiologic Technologist position involves performing bone density exams two days per week. The technologist will conduct procedures on patients of all ages, adhering to approved protocols, radiation safety guidelines, and established exam indicators. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient and procedure documentation, staying knowledgeable about relevant equipment, instruments, and supplies for high-quality exams, and ensuring effective patient communication appropriate for their age and mental capacity. Some travel between sites is expected.

Requirements

  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or if not registered, must provide proof of graduation from ARRT acknowledged radiology program and be ARRT registered within 90 days of graduation.
  • Must have and maintain an active Medical Imaging License issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) prior to providing any services in Oregon.
  • At hire, Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required (ACLS and/or PALS may be accepted in lieu of BLS).
  • Other certifications may be required as identified in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Radiologic Technologist experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Organization's Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).
  • Ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients (Revenue Management).
  • Performs ordered procedures according to departmental protocols and procedures, ensuring that optimum exams are acquired in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Keeps accurate and updated documentation of medications on inventory and medications utilized.
  • Maintains required inventory of instruments and supplies used in performance of procedures.
  • Maintains ability to properly set up and execute sterile environment.
  • May be required to support staff by performing various clinical duties, as outlined in the SAMG Clinical Competency Manual, to ensure patients receive excellent care in a timely manner when working in a SAMG outpatient clinical setting.
