About The Position

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program
• New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration
• Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams
• BLS through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, explaining the procedure in layman's terms and obtaining consent if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, adjusting equipment, and operating controls to obtain correct exposures.
• Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting any abnormalities to the Radiologist.
• Keys in patient history data and other pertinent information.
• Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
• Ensures images are properly marked and legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
• Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
