About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist - X-Ray is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. This role involves performing radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. Requirements

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience, OR at least 6 years of experience (in lieu of the education requirement).
  • Proficient in modality advanced competencies.
  • Thorough knowledge of technical standards, the scope of practice, department and health system policies, safety and service standards.
  • Thorough understanding of imaging equipment, image processing software, instrumentation, and ancillary patient care equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all the duties of a Diagnostic Technologist II.
  • Be a contributing member of quality improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Lead daily department huddles as assigned.
  • Assist with examination protocol and policy review/revisions.
  • Perform basic lead technologists' functions such as coordinating work assignments, workflow, and staffing for an assigned shift/area; serve as a clinical or technical resource; provide training.
  • Perform Dosimeter Badge coordinator duties (where applicable).
  • Initiate service calls and follow up until issues are resolved.
  • Participate in EOC rounding and TJC tracers alongside department leadership.
  • Act as a safety coach duty and potentially serve on the committee.
  • Develop and mentor other learners.
  • Show initiative and contribute to successful modality operations.
  • Recognize excellence in coworker performance and not participate in disruptive behavior.
  • Initiate process improvement discussions with senior leaders.
  • Anticipate the needs of patients and coworkers and proactively remove barriers to exceptional customer service and/or teamwork.
  • Perform complex procedures as applicable to your primary area, including but not limited to Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, advanced MSK procedures, procedures involving a sterile technique, and complex imaging that requires extensive critical thinking.
  • Inventory, order, and track unit supplies, including utilizing any 3rd inventory management tools designed for your area.
