About The Position

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program, required.
  • New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration, required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams, required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient for exam by relieving anxiety, translating examination into layman terms, and ensuring consent forms are obtained if necessary.
  • Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positions patients, arranges immobilization devices, and adjusts x-ray equipment to obtain correct exposures.
  • Monitors patient’s condition in accordance with technical and safety standards, recognizes and reports abnormalities to the Radiologist, and keys in patient history data.
  • Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival of disc memory to tape.
  • Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, maintains required records, and ensures images are properly marked and labeled.
  • Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and properly completes the correct tracking steps for each examination.
  • Performs related duties as required.
