About The Position

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs various Radiology Services procedures at a technical level requiring no constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of imaging and documentation procedures, including Radiology procedures, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. and is responsible for patient safety protocols. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Assists in various department examinations as ordered by physician. Assists in the department and its function. Assists in the scheduling of patients to the completion of the exam. Performs procedures and operates equipment at a technical level. Participates in Quality Improvement activities. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one, and to put forth the utmost quality as a Technologist.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Possesses knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Maintains all registries and licenses required by state and federal law.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Department specific training.
  • Proficiency with most major Radiology equipment, manufacturer’s hardware and software.
  • Ability to comply with on- call specifics.
  • Maintains registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Is currently eligible for and/or holding a New York State license in Radiologic Technology.
  • Maintains Basic Life Support Credentials (CPR) – Required within 90 days of hire.
