About The Position

Assist physicians and other staff members with care of patients in producing high quality radiographs within a surgical setting. This position requires flexibility as needed.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited two-year radiology program or equivalent military program.
Must be registered in radiography.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Knowledge of radiographic technique
Knowledge of PACS
Vast knowledge of muskuloskeletal anatomy.
Ability to work independently and have working knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
Valid driver s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis) if assigned for travel.

Responsibilities

Must have command of radiographic technique.
Must have command of PACS and be able to assist other staff members as needed.
Responsible for understanding and carrying out radiology requisitions and views.
Memorize what views each physician requires on exams.
Assist patients in getting into the positions required to get the radiographs needed with the occasional need to lift the patient.
Take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
Stock necessary supplies.
Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials within the OR suite.
Assist with and provide direct training and supervision to student technologists as directed.
Ensure equipment is in working order.
Reports any malfunction to supervisor in a timely manner.
