About The Position

The Radiologic Specialist-Mammographer administers Roentgen rays to patients, operates x-ray equipment, processes images, prepares patient's room, equipment, supplies and medications. Operates all equipment in the department. Performs a variety of advanced procedures including mammograms that require independent judgment and technical expertise with initiative. Assumes full responsibility for all assigned areas in the department. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Completion of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited Radiology Technologist Program
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Certification required
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification required
• Fluoroscopy License required
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification required
• Mammography State of California, Mammography ARRT required
• Able to read
• Able to write legibly
• Able to speak in English with professional quality
• Able to use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position
• Able to operate all appropriate Radiology equipment
• Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with patients of all ages, physicians and co-workers
• Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
• Ability to elicit cooperation from others
• Ability to communicate effectively about complex matters with others
• Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone
• Ability to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with workplace/patient care
• Ability to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary to the position
• Ability to discern temperature variances through touch

Nice To Haves

• Three years experience in diagnostic radiology preferred
