About The Position

This part-time instructor role allows you to stay clinically connected by teaching in a lab setting, offering a balance to direct patient care. You will teach essential radiography skills such as positioning, radiation protection, image critique, and patient communication. The role involves teaching an existing curriculum to develop knowledgeable, skilled, and successful students ready for a career in Radiography, providing life-work balance and additional income while sharing expertise with future professionals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body.
Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Three (3) years of clinical experience in diagnostic radiography.
Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent (i.e., unrestricted state license for the state where the program is located).
Possess the academic and professional qualifications for their teaching assignment.
Current license, certification, or other credential required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the Radiologic Technology field.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate and supervise X-ray positioning labs.
Coach students on image critique, exposure technique, and patient care scenarios.
Grade student work using existing rubrics.
Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students, including scheduled activities and materials for semesters.
Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum.
Instruct students in X-ray lab and radiology procedures.
Monitor students' attendance and coordinate with the Associate Director for absences.
Prepare attendance reports weekly.
Review student success rates and implement plans to reduce student withdrawals.
Meet with students to encourage program retention.
Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught.
Maintain student grades according to established policies.
Prepare final grades at the end of each semester.
Evaluate students' performance regarding achievements in curriculum and activities, and make provisions to meet learning needs.
Evaluate students’ clinical performance.
Prepare lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students.
Assist and advise students with the Radiography program curriculum.
May assist and coordinate externships for Radiography students.
