About The Position
Operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance with established protocols. Assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining, images, and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. Explains procedure to patients, giving opportunity for questions to reduce anxiety and promote trust. Works in surgery as assigned. Delivers and ensures customer service in all aspects of job.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure
- ARRT - Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- BLS certification (CPR and AED) from the American Heart Association (AHA), required.
- 1 Year prior x-ray experience in a surgical environment, required.
- Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology (ACR)/JCAHO requirements to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of an Associate’s Degree or higher, preferred.
