About The Position

This position operates a variety of radiology equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes as directed by the Radiologists, in accordance with established protocols. The technologist assists physicians and other clinical staff with obtaining images and other records using the Radiology PACS or hospital information systems. The role involves explaining procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and promote trust, and delivering excellent customer service in all aspects of the job.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure or “notice of IEMA compliance and authorization to perform medical radiation”
At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) certification (i.e., Certificate of Program Completion or a letter from the Radiology Program Director of the accredited school.). Required within 2yrs of temporary license date.
Current CPR Certification (BLS) issued by American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree
Prior x-ray experience in a hospital setting
Knowledge of all current American College of Radiology (ACR)/JCAHO requirements to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations
