About The Position

This is a Full Time position for a Radiologic Technologist II at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, TX. The role involves operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to obtain diagnostic images, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and collaborating with radiologists. The position requires adherence to radiation safety protocols, quality assurance, and maintaining radiologic supplies and equipment. The technologist will also participate in performance improvement activities and maintain necessary certifications.

Requirements

• Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by State.
• Appropriate national certifications in two modalities required (effective July 1, 2017).
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Must be familiar with State and Federal regulations.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Acute Clinical Radiography preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ensure they are properly positioned on the CT table and explain the procedure with empathy, addressing any concerns or questions.
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, adjusting settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure and ensuring radiation safety at all times.
• Monitor patients' comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Assist other radiologists who interpret the images, which may involve administering contrast agents or performing certain procedures.
• Perform quality assurance of CT scanners/X-ray machines to ensure proper function and accurate images.
• Maintain radiologic supplies, ensure equipment is in good operating order, and follow protocols regarding infection control and hygiene.
• Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP).
• Maintain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and Kansas State Board of Healing Arts license.
