About The Position

The Radiology Technologist I performs diagnostic X-ray exams (based on department needs) under the direction of a radiologist. The Radiology Technologist I provides compassionate direct patient care with an emphasis on maintaining organizational values and standards of behavior. The Radiology Technologist I operates diagnostic X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images of designated portions of the body. Where applicable, the Radiology Technologist I is required to participate in an on-call rotation outside of business hours based on department needs and must be able to work some weekends and holidays. Requirements

Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology
Current ARRT and State of Iowa permit to practice.
Maintain ARRT AND IDPH CEU requirements.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English.
Multicultural sensitivity.
Critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.

Responsibilities

Serves as a liaison between the Radiology Department, students, hospital staff and physicians.
Assists in the educational training of the Student Radiologic Technologists.
Assists with quality assurance processes.
Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.
Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other’s views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, puts success of team above own interest.
