Radiologic Technologist I - Campus Health and Wellbeing
About The Position
Under the general direction of the X-Ray Supervisor, the Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for taking and processing plain diagnostic X-rays. This role ensures the quality, safety, and organization of X-ray operations, including compliance with standards and regulations. The technologist will interface with patients, clinicians, and vendors. Additionally, the role involves performing medical office assistant, lab, and other support duties when not occupied in the X-ray department. The purpose of Campus Health & Wellbeing is to help students achieve and maintain academic success and lifelong health and wellbeing by providing timely and appropriate primary and acute health care, disease and injury prevention education, professional mental health, outreach, educational services and campus consultations.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of modern X-ray and computed radiography (CR) equipment and techniques
- Thorough knowledge of regional and gross anatomy and physiology of the human body
- Thorough knowledge of standardized radiological clinical procedures
- Knowledge of the principles of radiation protection, the hazards of radiologic materials, and required safety precautions
- Knowledge of industry standards and ethics pertaining to radiologic technology
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing radiology
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology
- Possess and maintain a Certificate of Radiologic Technology as a certified radiologic technologist issued by the Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Public Health
- Basic life support (or higher) cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification for Healthcare Providers (by date of hire)
Responsibilities

- Ensuring compliance with standards and regulations
- Interfacing with patients, clinicians, and vendors
- Performing medical office assistant, lab, and other support duties when not occupied in the X-ray department
- Perform general diagnostic radiographic procedures and effectively assess the quality of images taken
- Operate applicable diagnostic equipment, including X-ray and digital imaging equipment
- Produce quality radiographs and images using applicable systems to manipulate and enhance images
- Perform simple maintenance on applicable equipment
- Effectively use computerized systems associated with producing and manipulating digital images
- Maintain records using applicable computerized systems
- Recognize patient emergencies and alert practitioners
