The Radiologic Technologist in the Electrophysiology Lab will be responsible for setting up sterile fields, preparing patients for cases, and operating mapping equipment during procedures. This role involves operating multiple pieces of equipment, troubleshooting equipment issues, admitting and orienting patients, accurately entering patient information into databases and systems, and explaining testing procedures to patients and their families. The technologist will maintain all necessary equipment and accessories, complete room inventories, set up rooms for cases, and perform as a scrub assistant. They will operate and maintain electrophysiology lab equipment, including cardiac mapping systems and intracardiac echocardiography machines, and manage supplies by entering charges for items used during cases. Additionally, the role includes assisting physicians during procedures such as catheter placements, electrophysiology studies, and device implantations, communicating patient and case information to physicians, and collecting/analyzing cardiac rhythm strips and diagnostic data. The technologist must adhere to occupational and radiation safety regulations, wear appropriate protective gear, and demonstrate a commitment to continued professional growth by maintaining certifications/licensures, completing mandatory education, and staying updated on technological advancements. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.
