This position reports to the Radiologist and Imaging Manager for clinical purposes. The primary responsibility is to operate x-ray equipment to create high-quality diagnostic images of the human body with minimal patient discomfort. The role involves using various imaging technologies and preparing patients for procedures. Key functions include operating diagnostic x-ray, portable units, digital fluoroscopic, c-arm, and CT scan units. The technologist will utilize computed radiography and teleradiography, prepare contrast agents, and assist the radiologist with special procedures. Patient preparation and instruction are crucial, catering to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The role also involves patient transport, processing examination records, maintaining the cleanliness of the imaging department, and reporting equipment malfunctions or patient symptoms. Additional duties include managing weekend, holiday, and call coverage, performing clerical tasks, monitoring and reporting supply needs, attending professional meetings, and obtaining continuing education units (CEUs). Maintaining patient and employee confidentiality, promoting positive interpersonal relationships and public relations, staying informed through various communication channels, and using patient handling equipment safely are also essential aspects of this role. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to extend shifts when necessary are expected, along with performing duties safely and in compliance with all policies and procedures.
