About The Position

As a Radiologic Technologist, you will play a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. Your expertise in operating radiographic and CT equipment will ensure high-quality images are produced while maintaining patient safety and comfort. You will be responsible for preparing patients for procedures, explaining the process, and positioning them correctly to capture accurate images. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to review images and provide necessary technical information. Your work directly contributes to effective patient care and the overall success of medical treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Certification and licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the United States (ARRT).
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Florida certified Radiologic Technologist license.
  • Strong understanding and the ability to perform radiographic and computed tomography (CT) procedures.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, and radiation safety standards.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and protocols accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years' experience preferred performing both Radiographs and CTs.
  • CT certification from the ARRT (preferred)
  • Additional certifications in specialized imaging techniques.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and digital imaging software.
  • Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Continuing education in radiologic technology and patient care best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-rays, CT scans, and fluoroscopy.
  • Prepare and position patients accurately to ensure optimal image quality while minimizing discomfort.
  • Maintain detailed patient records and document procedures performed, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary exposure.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to review images and discuss findings as needed.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions promptly.
  • Educate patients about the imaging process and answer any questions to alleviate concerns.
  • Use two patient identifiers each and every imaging procedure to identify your patient.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures and maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.
