Firelands Health is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist to join their team. Requirements

  • Graduate of a formal radiologic technology training program in an approved school.
  • Must be American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered.
  • Must be licensed by the State of Ohio (ODH) as a Radiographer.
  • Both ARRT registry and ODH license must be kept active.
  • Must be currently certified in CPR, with bi-annual recertification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking.
  • Uses proper body mechanics.
  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift patients from carts, wheelchairs, or other transport devices onto imaging table/couch.

Nice To Haves

  • A new graduate of an approved radiologic technology training program and registry eligible may be hired, requiring ARRT and ODH license within 60 days of hire. Cannot work independently prior to ARRT and ODH requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize hospital computer systems (HIS/RIS/PACS) for information retrieval, image export, review, data verification, order entry, and exam completion recording.
  • Receive and review order requests, checking for special instructions and consulting with Radiologists as needed.
  • Prepare rooms, equipment, and imaging materials for patient procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients.
  • Transfer patients to the imaging table and position them for required views, adapting as necessary for patient cooperation.
  • Prepare various contrast mediums for X-rays.
  • Select and operate equipment according to prescribed techniques, adjusting settings and technical factors on an individual patient basis.
  • Observe patients and equipment during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences.
  • Perform patient assessments as appropriate for the imaging procedure to aid Radiologist interpretation.
  • Perform imaging in the main department, off-site locations, surgery, and portable settings as assigned.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient needs based on age group and modify care accordingly, primarily for adults and geriatrics, but also for adolescents, children, infants, and neonates.
  • Lift, move, and transport patients via wheelchair or cart between various care areas.
  • Be available for emergency cases on a rotational basis.
  • Teach clinical affiliate students.
  • Assist with clerical and front office duties, including answering phones, releasing information, and burning CDs.
  • Perform short registrations and activate patient accounts at specific locations.
  • Assist with patient vitals, including blood pressure, height, weight, and temperature.
  • Identify problems, communicate them appropriately to supervisors, and offer solutions.
