The Radiologic/CT Technologist works under the supervision of the Imaging Department Director, performing Imaging/CT procedures and all related duties. This role ensures patient safety, operates equipment accurately and efficiently using prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis, and works various shifts to staff the department. The technologist also provides guidance and instruction for radiologic technology students and assists with scheduling imaging appointments.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registered
• ARRT CT certified or obtained post completion of competencies within 1 year
• Basic Life Support certified or obtain within 4 months
• Basic computer skills
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to follow and adhere to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital policies, vision, mission and values
• Maintains reliable and consistent attendance

Responsibilities

• Performs Imaging/CT procedures on patients of all ages and for all areas of organization
• Examines provider's orders to assure proper tests are completed
• Instructs and prepares patient for procedure
• Assures patient safety with the use of screening females of child bearing age for pregnancy, shielding, immobilization devices and appropriate age specific techniques
• Operates equipment accurately and efficiently using proper technical factors for radiological diagnosis and following the Imaging/CT procedure protocols to perform quality control procedures
• Obtains and prepares CT procedures for reading using image reconstruction and post processing techniques
• Obtains and evaluates images for quality and technical clarity, then prepares images for reading
