The radioisotope program is the largest production and research portfolio within the Department of Energy Isotope Program (DOE IRP) and uses the unique facilities at ORNL to produce and study radioactive materials with applications in medicine, science, national security, and industry. The Radioisotope Projects Integration Manager serves as a principal project management partner to the Radioisotope Program Manager and shares responsibility for the operational integration of the portfolio. The position provides portfolio-level management for project execution, technical maturation, resource and budget planning, performance management, reporting, and continuous improvement across a diverse set of radioisotope production and R&D activities. Working through matrixed technical, project, operations, project controls, and finance teams, the Radioisotope Projects Integration Manager establishes and improves management methods and portfolio-wide guidelines; coordinates priorities and dependencies across projects; and ensures key deliverables are achieved safely, on schedule, within scope, and within budget. The position directs knowledge-transfer and organizational-learning activities needed to preserve critical technical capability and strengthen workforce continuity. The Radioisotope Projects Integration Manager is fully engaged in portfolio strategy, operational planning, assessments, and key client and stakeholder relationships, including interfaces with the DOE Isotope R&D and Production Program Office, ORNL senior management, researchers, and operations leadership. The incumbent is authorized to act for the Radioisotope Program Manager during periods of absence.
