About The Position

Radiographers are responsible for preparing and positioning patients for exams, knowing the operation of all diagnostic equipment and producing radiographs of acceptable quality to ensure that the examination/procedure is complete and ready for radiographic interpretation. This position is also responsible for the care of the patient while in his/her charge, and shall be able to assess the ongoing condition of the patient and call for any needed assistance. Patient population encompasses all age groups and medical/surgical diagnoses.

Requirements

• Licensed Maine Radiographer
• Completion of an accredited program in Radiography
• ARRT certification required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to perform diagnostic studies on patients ranging from newborn to the geriatric individual
• Ability to cope effectively and to help others cope with stress
• Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure or in emergency situations
• Ability to work with personnel and physicians from many areas and medical offices
• Good analytical skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Ability to work without full-time supervision
• Good eye-hand coordination
• Ability to move patients and equipment
• Excellent manual dexterity
• Good visual acuity

Nice To Haves

• National certification or additional experience in CT Scan, Mammography and/or Ultrasound
• Two years or more of experience in Radiography
