Performs routine and specialized diagnostic and technical radiographic procedures at an intermediate skill level. This PRN (As Needed) position involves day, evening, and night shifts. The role requires performing diagnostic procedures in specialty areas such as complex orthopedic, neuro, and vascular operating room procedures, complex portables, or trauma procedures. The position also involves demonstrating leadership skills by overseeing and training other personnel, scheduling cases, safely positioning and transferring patients, and practicing radiation safety. A key responsibility is processing images using digital technology, resolving PACS and EHR system issues, and ensuring image quality with a repeat rate below the National Standard. The role also includes participating in departmental improvement projects, such as equipment QA, creating standards of work, and joining the engagement committee. Common expectations include demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the patient lifespan, providing age-specific care, and adhering to safety regulations, including error reduction and reporting. The radiographer must maintain established policies and procedures, enhance professional growth, provide outstanding customer service, foster teamwork, and practice fiscal responsibility. The position also requires taking call as needed, with specific on-call requirements defined by each hospital.
