Performs routine diagnostic, technical and/or special radiographic procedures at a general skill level. This role involves performing radiographic examinations, obtaining patient history, explaining procedures, and addressing patient concerns. The radiographer will also perform diagnostic procedures in specialty areas such as operating room procedures, complex portables, or trauma procedures. Scheduling cases, safely positioning and transferring patients, and ensuring radiation safety are key responsibilities. The role requires evaluating image quality, maintaining a low repeat rate, and collaborating with other departments to improve care and efficiency. Common expectations include demonstrating knowledge of patient growth and development, providing age-specific care, and adhering to safety regulations to minimize medical errors. The radiographer will also participate in safety education and root cause analyses, maintain established policies and procedures, and enhance professional growth through continuous learning. Outstanding customer service, teamwork, and fiscal responsibility are also expected. This position may require taking call to meet departmental needs.
