About The Position

At the direction and control of the Director of Radiology, the radiographer will provide technical skills in radiology and fluoroscopy. This role involves performing advanced level CT scans, cleaning work areas and equipment, transporting and transferring patients, and administering oral and IV contrast media via venipuncture. The radiographer will also schedule and prepare patients, produce radiographs to meet department standards, and provide written impression sheets for the Radiologist and ED physicians. The position requires working within multi-disciplines in the Radiology Department, developing and duplicating films, mixing chemicals, and potentially performing EKGs. Maintaining strict confidentiality as required by HIPAA, responsible equipment maintenance, and record keeping as required by regulatory entities are key aspects of this role. The radiographer will participate in overall quality assurance for the Department and actively participate in all special events. The role also includes delivering patient care and service with respect for human dignity, without discrimination, and practicing radiologic technology founded on theoretical knowledge. The radiographer will assess situations, exercise care, discretion, and judgment, assume responsibility for professional decisions, and act in the best interest of the patient. They will act as an agent through observation and communication to obtain pertinent information for the physician and respect patient privacy, revealing confidential information only as required by law or to protect welfare. Continuous improvement of knowledge and skills through continuing education and professional activities is expected.

Requirements

  • Degree from an AMH approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Licensed in the State of Arkansas as LRT.
  • RT(R) ARRT registered.
  • Five (5) years’ hospital experience preferred
  • Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to: Reaching and grasping with arms and hands
  • Proofreading and checking documents for accuracy
  • Using a keyboard to enter or transform words or data
  • Hearing in normal and soft tones
  • Ability to read and understand written English words and sentences
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English words and sentences
  • Ability to understand spoken English words and sentences
  • Ability to communicate with others by telephone and e-mail
  • Ability to perform duties and responsibilities promptly and with little direct supervision in planning and organizing workload
  • Ability to judge the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances or problems.
