About The Position

The Radiographer, Clinical Specialist (Quality) will lead and support the continuous improvement, development, and delivery of high-quality radiology services. The specialist will provide expertise in quality management, patient safety, risk management, clinical effectiveness, radiology practice, and regulatory frameworks. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing systems for quality and safety assurance, managing service quality, evaluating issues, making decisions, and supporting service improvement. The role also involves identifying service weaknesses, analyzing performance, implementing corrective actions, supporting service targets, and maintaining effective communication with management teams. Collaboration with internal departments and external organizations, respecting patient rights, participating in management processes, and embracing change are also crucial aspects of this position. The role may also involve deputizing for Radiography Service Managers.

  • Ability to develop and monitor quality indicators, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
  • Must be able to coordinate internal and external quality assurance programs, inspections, and visits.
  • Ability to prepare the department for external audits/inspections and oversee completion of corrective actions.
  • Must be able to plan, conduct, and supervise clinical and non-clinical audits, quality reviews, and service evaluations.
  • Ability to produce and present quality, audit, and performance reports to senior management, quality committees, and relevant agencies.
  • Must be able to monitor patient experience feedback, compliments, and complaints, identifying trends and driving service improvements.
  • Ability to support the implementation and monitoring of radiology QA standards such as peer review, discrepancy meetings, turnaround times, and communication of significant findings.
  • Must be able to liaise with Radiation Protection Officers, Medical Physics, Quality & Patient Safety teams, and other stakeholders regarding audits, research, and compliance activities.
  • Ability to identify emerging legislation, guidance, and standards requiring local implementation.
  • Must support quality improvement initiatives, advanced practice developments, and radiographer-led service innovation projects.
  • Requires promotion and maintenance of a safe working environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
