About The Position

Ratio is seeking a Radiochemistry Scientist to join a growing team of scientists working in research and development of novel theranostic agents. This role involves radiolabeling and evaluating our proprietary TRILLIUM™ platform, which combines pharmacokinetic modulation with advanced chelation technology. The goal is to develop proprietary small molecule targeting agents that can attack a wide range of cancer targets. Additionally, the successful candidate will partner in the development of many theranostic vectors and isotopic pairs as well as extensive use of alpha emitters with our proprietary MACROPA™ chelator for alpha targeted radiotherapy. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and be skilled in using radioisotopes for molecular imaging and targeted radiotherapy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in chemistry or related field is required
  • Post-graduate radiochemistry experience is highly preferred (post-doc or otherwise)
  • Working knowledge of organic and analytical chemistry
  • Working knowledge of radiochemistry and competency working with radioactive materials
  • Some publications in the field
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, including proficiency in English (both written and oral, as demonstrated by publication record)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, and troubleshoot problems
  • Demonstrated ability to readily acquire new skills and techniques
  • Must be able to lift 45 lbs. (handling of lead and tungsten vial/syringe shields)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with radiometal manual synthesis, including 111In, 68Ga, 64Cu, 90Y, 177Lu, and 225Ac among others
  • Experience with radiopharmaceutical manufacturing and testing for animal and/or human use
  • Experience working in a CMC environment to help guide preclinical R&D strategy

Responsibilities

  • Develop radiolabeling methods for small molecules and biologics
  • Develop chromatographic methods to analyze and purify radiolabeled compounds (HPLC, GC, radio-TLC, etc.)
  • Work to become the company’s Radiation Safety Officer
  • Develop formulations suitable for use in animal and human studies
  • Conduct in vitro assays to evaluate and optimize stability of radiolabeled compounds
  • Translate radiolabeling methods to automated synthesis units
  • Aseptically prepare radiolabeled products for preclinical studies
  • Conduct quality control testing of products
  • Maintain clear and accurate records and perform relevant lab maintenance and calibrations
  • Stay up to date on current literature/radiolabeling methods
  • Compose and follow standard operating procedures
  • Interpret data, recognize aberrant results, and propose explanations and next steps
  • Summarize data for reports, patents, and presentations
