About The Position

This position is the primary contact for communication among personnel, visitors, and clients at Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare (ABH). Key responsibilities include communication, access control, and information management. Requirements

  • Formal education that includes reading, writing & speaking English. -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualification For Employment noted above.

  • Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application. Applicants must submit an official transcript before receiving a formal employment offer. Transcripts printed from the institution’s website will not be accepted. DBH reserves the right to evaluate the academic validity of the degree-granting institution.
  • Must be able to complete a 4 week full time orientation (Will include 1st and 2nd shift)
  • May be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior
  • Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment

Responsibilities

  • Operates communication equipment professionally and courteously, directing calls and messages to the appropriate personnel or departments
  • Dispatches personnel and equipment as required, and relays or clarifies information as needed
  • Operates overhead paging systems and monitors alarms for fire, pharmacy, and weather, etc.
  • Maintains written and digital logs of staff activity, client movement, and assigned duties
  • Provides directions and greets visitors in person or by phone, including dignitaries and delivery personnel, etc.
  • Oversee & issue passes and tags for all visitors and contractors
  • Attends required training sessions to improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role and follows agency policies on computer and software usage
