About The Position

Cancer Specialists of North Florida (CSNF) is the largest physician-owned private practice oncology group in Jacksonville. They are seeking upcoming graduates from accredited Radiation Therapy programs who are ready to start their professional careers. CSNF emphasizes exceptional patient care while maintaining a work-life balance, with no weekend or holiday hours. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT) operates all radiation therapy equipment, sets up and treats patients as per MD prescription, maintains patient treatment records, and provides support to patients under the standards of practice and safety principles. This full-time position requires travel to any CSNF clinic that provides radiation therapy to patients and availability for a flexible work schedule, including early opening and evening hours. Clinic locations include Jacksonville, Fleming Island, and St. Augustine, FL.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
  • Current / valid Florida Radiation Therapy license required
  • ARRT Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience performing radiation therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards as prescribed by the physician.
  • Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription.
  • Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart and identification.
  • Maintains records, reports, and files as required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings and patients’ reactions.
  • Observes the patient’s clinical progress and uses clinical decision-making skills to recognize and report any signs of complications.
  • Follows principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
  • Adheres to radiation safety procedure protocol.
  • Safely and effectively operates a variety of computerized simulation and treatment machines.
  • Performs machine safety checks, knows sale limits of equipment operations, and reports abnormalities or inconsistencies to the proper authority.
  • Constructs immobilization devices and employs custom blocking techniques that are conducive to conformal radiation therapy.
  • Utilizes sophisticated imaging equipment and treatment planning systems for precise tumor localization.
  • Works closely with the Radiation Oncologist and the therapy team in the preparation of a treatment plan that is customized to the patient’s needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.
