About The Position

Cancer Specialists of North Florida (CSNF) is seeking upcoming graduates from accredited Radiation Therapy programs to start their professional careers. CSNF is the largest physician-owned private practice oncology group in Jacksonville, known for its employees' expertise in providing exceptional patient care while maintaining a work-life balance. This full-time position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and requires travel to any CSNF clinic providing radiation therapy. The Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT) operates radiation therapy equipment, sets up and treats patients according to physician prescriptions, maintains patient treatment records, and provides patient support according to practice standards and safety principles. The role also involves a flexible work schedule, including early opening and evening hours, but notably, NO WEEKEND OR HOLIDAY HOURS.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program.
Current / valid Florida Radiation Therapy license required
ARRT Certification

Nice To Haves

3-5 years of experience performing radiation therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

Administers doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards as prescribed by the physician.
Positions patients for treatment with accuracy according to prescription.
Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart and identification.
Maintains records, reports, and files as required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings and patients’ reactions.
Observes the patient’s clinical progress and uses clinical decision-making skills to recognize and report any signs of complications.
Follows principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
Adheres to radiation safety procedure protocol.
Safely and effectively operates a variety of computerized simulation and treatment machines.
Performs machine safety checks, knows sale limits of equipment operations, and reports abnormalities or inconsistencies to the proper authority.
Constructs immobilization devices and employs custom blocking techniques that are conducive to conformal radiation therapy.
Utilizes sophisticated imaging equipment and treatment planning systems for precise tumor localization.
Works closely with the Radiation Oncologist and the therapy team in the preparation of a treatment plan that is customized to the patient’s needs.
