Radiation Therapist
About The Position
Responsible for the delivery of quality patient care through radiation therapy treatments. This includes performing treatment simulations, fabricating all necessary shielding blocks, and maintaining accurate EMR. The role also involves preparing equipment for patient treatments, performing quality control and assurance tests, ensuring proper infection control techniques, and adhering to optimal radiation safety and protection practices. All activities must reflect the philosophy, goals, objectives, and standards of McLaren and nationally accepted standards of practice, provisions of quality patient care, environmental safety, and inter-disciplinary cooperation. The therapist is expected to maintain professional working relationships with medical staff.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an AMA accredited course of study in Radiation Therapy Technology
- Certification as a Registered Radiation Therapy Technologist by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT). If not registered at hire, must be within six (6) months.
